The Bajhang Cultural Trek is a 11-day easy-grade cultural trek through the traditional villages of Bajhang district in far west Nepal, offering deep cultural immersion in a region rarely visited by foreign travelers. The trek begins with a flight to Dhangadhi, then a jeep ride to Chainpur (the district headquarters), and walks through traditional Chhetri, Brahmin, and Dalit villages, ancient Hindu temples, and terraced hillsides with views of the far western Himalayan range. The trek includes home stays with local families, traditional Thakuri cultural performances, and visits to ancient temples including the Surma Devi temple at Surma. The maximum altitude of 2,200m is moderate and accessible to most fit trekkers.
