Langtang Valley

Just north of Kathmandu, the Langtang region provides a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural richness without the need for domestic flights. The classic Langtang Valley trek takes you up a beautiful glacial valley to Kyanjin Gompa, an ancient monastery and cheese factory, with stunning close-up views of Langtang Lirung (7,227m). For a more challenging trek, you can ascend to the sacred high-altitude lakes of Gosaikunda, a major pilgrimage site. The region is inhabited primarily by the Tamang people, whose culture is closely related to that of Tibetans, offering a warm and hospitable welcome to trekkers.
