Himlung Himal Expedition – 30 Days

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport with private vehicle transfer to your hotel in Thamel. Evening welcome dinner and expedition briefing with the climbing guide.

Full day expedition briefing and permit processing with the Ministry of Tourism. Equipment check and packing.

6-hour scenic drive from كاتماندو إلى بيسيسار, the starting point of the Annapurna Circuit. Evening expedition briefing.

Continue by jeep from بيسيسار through the Marsyangdi Valley to Koto, where the Annapurna Circuit meets the turn-off to the Nar Phu valley.

Leave the Annapurna Circuit at Koto and enter the restricted Nar Phu valley. Climb through dramatic forested canyon to the small settlement of Meta. Establish camp with full kitchen service.

Continue up the Nar Phu valley through dramatic canyon scenery to the traditional Tibetan Buddhist village of Nar, with its ancient gompa.

Continue up the valley to Phu village, one of the most remote settlements in Nepal. Visit the Phu gompa and explore the traditional architecture.

Full acclimatization day in Phu. Optional hike above the village for acclimatization. Equipment check and climbing briefing.

Climb above Phu village through alpine meadows to reach Himlung Himal Base Camp at 4,850m. Establish full base camp with dining tent, kitchen, and communication equipment.

Full acclimatization day at Base Camp. Optional short hike above camp. Equipment check and puja ceremony preparation.

Full day of climbing training at Base Camp followed by the traditional Buddhist puja ceremony to bless the expedition. Pack and prepare for the Camp 1 carry.

Climb over moraine and glacier to establish Camp 1 at 5,400m on the glacier below the west ridge. Carry loads and return to Base Camp.

Climb to Camp 1 and establish the camp. Spend the night at altitude for acclimatization.

Climb the glacier and lower west ridge to establish Camp 2 at 6,000m at the start of the west ridge. Carry loads and return to Camp 1.

Climb to Camp 2 and establish the camp. Spend the night for further acclimatization.

Full acclimatization day at Camp 2 with optional short climb higher. Return to Camp 1 for the night.

Climb back to Camp 2 to prepare for the Camp 3 carry.

Climb the west ridge to establish Camp 3 at 6,500m on the ridge. Carry loads and return to Camp 2.

Climb to Camp 3 and spend the night for final acclimatization before the summit push.

Pre-dawn start at midnight. Climb 40-50 degree snow slopes on the upper mountain, traversing the narrow exposed summit ridge to the 7,126m summit. Spectacular views of ماناسلو, the Annapurna range, and the Tibetan plateau. Descend to Camp 3.

Continue descending from Camp 3 to Camp 2 for rest and recovery.

Continue descending from Camp 2 to Base Camp for celebration and hot meals.

Buffer day reserved for weather or acclimatization. If the summit was achieved on Day 20, rest at Base Camp. If summit was postponed, attempt again from Camp 3.

Descend from Base Camp back to Phu village for rest and a celebration meal with the local community.

Continue descending through the Nar Phu valley to the traditional village of Nar. Visit the Nar gompa.

Continue descending through the dramatic canyon scenery back to Meta.

Descend from Meta back to Koto, then continue by jeep to بيسيسار لليل.

6-hour scenic drive from بيسيسار عودة إلى كاتماندو. Check in to hotel and evening farewell dinner.

Buffer day for travel delays or rest in كاتماندو. Visit CIWEC Clinic for a check-up. Optional sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley.

Private vehicle transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight.
