The Everest Documentary Expedition is a 21-day specialist trek for filmmakers, documentary producers, and serious content creators who want to capture the entire Khumbu region in broadcast quality. The expedition follows a comprehensive route covering all the major Khumbu locations: Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar, 고교 호수, Renjo La, Cho La, Kongma La (the Three Passes), and the Sherpa cultural sites of Namche, Khumjung, and Tengboche. The expedition includes a film-friendly crew (porters carry camera cases, guides understand filming needs), additional battery charging capacity via solar panels, a base camp at Gorak Shep for multiple shoot days, and access to local Sherpa subjects for interviews (with translation). This is the most comprehensive Everest filming expedition available in Nepal.

Full-day production meeting with crew. Location scout consultation and shot list review.
Cross suspension bridges and climb to Namche. Filming at the Hillary Bridge and Namche viewpoints.
Sunrise shoot at Everest View Hotel. Sherpa market filming. Sherpa interviews with translation.
Trek to Tengboche. Afternoon monastery filming with permission. Evening chanting ceremony.
Continue to Dingboche. Sunset shoot of Lhotse south face and Island Peak.
Acclimatization hike with panoramic filming of Makalu.
Cross the first of the Three Passes (Kongma La, 5,535m) with dramatic glacier filming.
Trek to Gorak Shep. Afternoon filming at Everest Base Camp with the Khumbu Icefall.
Pre-dawn climb to Kala Patthar for the iconic Everest sunrise shoot. Multiple takes as light changes.
Second sunrise shoot at Kala Patthar with different angles. Afternoon Base Camp life filming.
Cross the second pass (Cho La, 5,420m) with glacier filming. Descend to 고교 호수.
Pre-dawn climb to Gokyo Ri for sunrise on Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Lake reflection filming.
Cross the third pass (Renjo La, 5,360m) with the most dramatic mountain panorama of the entire trek.
Descend to Thame village. Afternoon filming at the Thame Monastery, one of the oldest in the Khumbu.
Return to Namche for hot showers, bakery treats, and final cultural filming.
Final trekking day back to Lukla. Celebration dinner with the crew.
Morning flight to 카트만두. Equipment cleaning and organization.
Post-production meeting. Afternoon sightseeing in 카트만두 for additional b-roll.

You need a fitness level of Moderate to High – cardio training 3-4 times weekly for 8-12 weeks before departure, hill walking with a day pack, and core strength exercises.

Accommodation: Star Hotel, Tea House, Base Camp. Tea houses are family-run lodges with simple twin-share rooms and shared bathrooms. Luxury lodges (where available) offer heated ensuite rooms. 3-star or higher hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast. Three meals daily (BLD) included during treks with tea and coffee. Vegetarian options widely available.

Altitude Safety
Maximum altitude is 5545m. Above 3,500m, altitude sickness is a real risk. Our itinerary includes acclimatization days, guides carry pulse oximeters and emergency oxygen. Walk slowly, stay hydrated (3-4 liters daily), avoid alcohol above 3,500m, report symptoms immediately. Travel insurance covering helicopter evacuation is mandatory.

Insurance Requirement
Travel insurance is mandatory for all our treks and tours. Your insurance must cover trekking to 5545m altitude (for treks), emergency helicopter evacuation up to USD 10,000, emergency medical treatment, and trip cancellation. We recommend World Nomads, IMG Global, or Allianz Adventure plans. Bring a printed copy of your insurance certificate.

Cultural Etiquette
Dress modestly at religious sites (cover shoulders and knees). Remove shoes before entering temple sanctums. Walk clockwise around stupas and chortens. Ask permission before photographing people. Use your right hand for eating and passing items. Say namaste (palms together) as a greeting.

To confirm your booking, a deposit is required (50% for helicopter tours). The balance is due 30 days before departure (7 days for helicopter tours). We accept bank transfer, credit card (4% surcharge), PayPal. Free cancellation up to 60 days before departure. We strongly recommend travel insurance covering trip cancellation.
