Ramdung (5,925m / 19,439 ft), also known as Ramdung Go, is a trekking peak in the Rolwaling region of north-east Nepal, located in the remote Rolwaling valley west of the Khumbu. The peak lies at approximately 27 degrees 45 minutes north latitude and 86 degrees 23 minutes east longitude, in the Gaurishankar Conservation Area. Ramdung was first climbed in the 1950s by a Scottish expedition. The Nepal Mountaineering Association classifies it as a Group B trekking peak.The standard route climbs the north-east ridge, with Base Camp at approximately 4,500m in the Rolwaling valley and a High Camp at around 5,200m. The summit push involves climbing a glacier and 40-50 degree snow and ice slopes on the upper mountain, with some short vertical steps that require fixed ropes. The technical difficulty is rated PD+ on the Alpine grading system, similar to Island Peak. Climbers should have basic mountaineering experience or attend the training day at Base Camp.Ramdung is located in one of the most remote and least-trekked valleys in Nepal, offering a true wilderness climbing experience. The Rolwaling valley is flanked by Gaurishankar (7,134m) to the south and Menlungtse (7,181m) to the north, with the famous Tashi Lapcha Pass (5,755m) connecting Rolwaling to the Khumbu. The summit rewards climbers with views of Gaurishankar, Menlungtse, the entire Rolwaling range, and distant views of Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu to the east.The approach follows the Rolwaling valley from Charikot through Simigaun, Daldung La, and Beding to the village of Na, with acclimatization days at Beding (3,690m) and Na (4,180m). The region is culturally Tibetan Buddhist Sherpa and Tamang homeland, with traditional villages, ancient gompas at Beding and Na, and the famous Beding Monastery. The best climbing seasons are spring (April-May) and autumn (October-November). The Rolwaling valley is one of Nepal least-visited trekking areas, with authentic Sherpa culture and dramatic mountain scenery.

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport with private vehicle transfer to your hotel in Thamel. Evening welcome dinner and trek briefing with the climbing guide.

Day 02 :

Drive to Charikot & Trek to Simigaun

6-hour scenic jeep drive from 카트만두 to Charikot (Dolakha), then continue by jeep to Simigaun, the start of the Rolwaling trek. Short trek to the village of Simigaun.

Day 03 :

Trek to Daldung La

Climb steeply through terraced hillsides and dense forest to the small settlement of Daldung La, with first views of Gaurishankar (7,134m) to the north.

Day 04 :

Trek to Beding

Continue up the Rolwaling valley through forest and alpine meadows to the Sherpa village of Beding, with its famous monastery.

Day 05 :

Acclimatization in Beding

Full acclimatization day in Beding. Optional hike above the village for views of Gaurishankar and the Rolwaling range. Visit the Beding Monastery.

Day 06 :

Trek to Na

Continue up the valley to the last permanent settlement of Na at 4,180m, the base for expeditions into the upper Rolwaling.

Day 07 :

Trek to Ramdung Base Camp

Leave Na and climb northward into the Ramdung Khola valley to reach Base Camp at 4,500m. Establish camp with full kitchen service.

Day 08 :

Acclimatization & Climbing Training at Base Camp

Full day of acclimatization and climbing training at Base Camp. Practice glacier travel, crampon technique, ice-axe arrest, rope work, and fixed-rope ascension. Pack and prepare for the High Camp carry.

Day 09 :

Trek to High Camp

Climb over moraine and glacier to reach the High Camp at 5,200m on the north-east ridge. Establish tents and prepare for the summit push.

Day 10 :

Summit Ramdung & Descend to Base Camp

Pre-dawn start at 2 AM. Climb the north-east ridge with 40-50 degree snow and ice slopes on fixed ropes, reaching the 5,925m summit. Spectacular views of Gaurishankar, Menlungtse, and the Rolwaling range. Descend to Base Camp for celebration.

Day 11 :

Buffer Day for Summit

Buffer day reserved for weather or acclimatization. If the summit was achieved on Day 10, descend to Na. If summit was postponed, attempt again today.

Day 12 :

Trek to Na

Descend from Base Camp back to the Rolwaling valley and the village of Na for hot showers and a celebratory meal.

Day 13 :

Trek to Beding

Continue descending through the Rolwaling valley back to the Sherpa village of Beding.

Day 14 :

Trek to Daldung La

Continue descending through forest and alpine meadows back to the small settlement of Daldung La.

Day 15 :

Trek to Simigaun

Continue descending through terraced hillsides back to Simigaun. Celebration dinner with the climbing crew.

Day 16 :

Drive to Charikot & Continue to Kathmandu

Jeep drive from Simigaun to Charikot, then continue by private vehicle to 카트만두 (8-9 hours total). Check in to hotel.

Day 17 :

Buffer Day in Kathmandu

Buffer day for travel delays or optional sightseeing in 카트만두 계곡. Visit Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, or Pashupatinath. Evening farewell dinner.

Day 18 :

Final Departure

Private vehicle transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight.

Insurance Requirement

Travel insurance is mandatory for all our treks and tours. Cultural Etiquette
