The Everest Region, also known as the Khumbu in northeastern Nepal, is a world-famous destination dominated by Mount Everest and seven other of the world’s highest peaks. This dramatic landscape of towering mountains, massive glaciers, and turquoise lakes is protected within the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This area is the heartland of the resilient Sherpa people, whose vibrant Tibetan Buddhist culture is evident in the prayer flags, mani walls, and monasteries that dot the trails. The bustling town of Namche Bazaar is the region’s main hub, while the iconic Tengboche Monastery offers stunning spiritual and panoramic views.

The primary draw for visitors is trekking, with the Everest Base Camp trek being the most sought-after journey. Other popular routes include the scenic Gokyo Lakes Trek and the challenging Three Passes Trek.

Most adventures begin with a thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla airport. The best times to visit are during the clear, stable weather of spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November), offering an unforgettable experience in the shadow of the world’s highest mountains.
