The Mardi Himal Trek is a 7-day easy-grade short trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m), offering spectacular close-up views of Machhapuchhre (6,993m) and the Annapurna range. The route begins with a short drive from Pokhara to Kande, then climbs through rhododendron forest, past traditional Gurung villages, and over high ridges to reach Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4,500m. Unlike the popular Annapurna Base Camp trek, the Mardi Himal route is significantly less crowded and offers a more intimate mountain experience. The trek also includes a visit to the Australian Camp (2,050m) for sunrise views and the traditional Gurung village of Landruk. The maximum altitude of 4,500m is significant but manageable with proper acclimatization. This is the ideal short trek for travelers wanting Himalayan beauty without the crowds.

Highlights

  • Stand at Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) with close-up views of Machhapuchhre.
