The Humla Limi Valley Trek is an 18-day hard-grade wilderness trek through Nepal’s remote Limi Valley in the far western Humla district, one of the least-visited regions in Nepal. The trek begins with flights to Simikot, then follows the Humla Karnali river before crossing the 5,000m Nyalu La pass to enter the Limi Valley – a trans-Himalayan valley with Tibetan culture, ancient monasteries, and dramatic landscapes. The valley is home to traditional Tibetan-Buddhist communities who have maintained trade routes to Tibet for centuries. The trek requires full-service camping for most nights as the region has very limited tea houses. The maximum altitude of 5,000m at Nyalu La is significant and requires careful acclimatization.

Highlights

  • Cross the Nyalu La Pass (5,000m) with panoramic views of the Limi Valley.
  • Walk through traditional Tibetan-Buddhist villages unchanged for centuries.
  • Visit ancient monasteries including the 1,000-year-old Laling Gompa.
  • Full-service wilderness camping in one of Nepal's most remote regions.
  • Trek along ancient salt trade routes between Nepal and Tibet.
