Hösten (september till november) erbjuder den klaraste himlen, skarp luft och stabila vandringsförhållanden. Vintern (december till februari) är kall men möjlig på lägre rutter. NMA Tharpu Chuli Peak Permit, Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP), TIMS Card.
Tharpu Chuli (5,663m / 18,579 ft), commonly known as Tent Peak due to its distinctive pyramidal shape, is a trekking peak in the Annapurna region of north-central Nepal. The peak is located within the Annapurna Sanctuary, a high glacial basin surrounded by some of the most dramatic mountains in the Himalaya. Tharpu Chuli lies at approximately 28 degrees 31 minutes north latitude and 83 degrees 52 minutes east longitude, in the Annapurna Conservation Area. The Nepal Mountaineering Association classifies it as a Group B trekking peak. The standard route climbs the north-east ridge from a Base Camp at approximately 4,500m in the Annapurna Sanctuary itself, with a High Camp at around 5,000m. The summit push involves climbing a glacier and 35-45 degree snow slopes on the upper mountain, with some short ice steps. The technical difficulty is rated PD on the Alpine grading system, similar to Island Peak. Climbers should have basic mountaineering experience or attend the training day at Base Camp.Tharpu Chuli is one of the most scenically located climbing peaks in Nepal, with Base Camp situated in the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary surrounded by Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Hiunchuli (6,441m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), and Gangapurna (7,454m). The summit offers a unique 360-degree panorama of the entire Annapurna Sanctuary, one of the most spectacular mountain amphitheaters in the world. The name Tent Peak comes from the distinctive pyramidal shape of the summit when viewed from Annapurna Base Camp. The approach follows the classic Annapurna Sanctuary trek from pokhara through nayapul, ghandruk, khomrong, and the Modi Khola gorge to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), with acclimatization days along the way. The region is culturally Gurung homeland, with traditional villages, ancient gompas, and the famous Gurung museum at Ghandruk. The best climbing seasons are spring (April-May) and autumn (October-November). The Annapurna Sanctuary is one of Nepal most popular trekking destinations, with comfortable tea houses throughout the approach.
